DESCRIPTION:National Health Workforce Summit\n\nThe National Health Workforce Summit is an annual conference that brings together health professionals\, policymakers\, and stakeholders from across the country and outside the country to discuss issues related to the health workforce. \nThe summit provides a platform for attendees to share their experiences and knowledge\, exchange ideas\, and collaborate on solutions to challenges facing the health workforce. The concept for this year’s summit is “Building a Strong and Resilient Health Workforce for the country.” The theme highlights the importance of a well-trained\, diverse\, and adaptable health workforce in meeting the changing needs of the population and addressing current and future challenges in the healthcare system. The summit will feature a range of interactive sessions\, including plenary lectures\, panel discussions\, workshops\, and networking opportunities. These sessions will cover a variety of topics\, including workforce development\, diversity and inclusion\, health equity\, and innovation in healthcare delivery. The National Health Workforce Summit aims to promote dialogue and collaboration among attendees and to identify practical strategies and solutions for strengthening the health workforce. It is an opportunity for attendees to learn from experts and each other\, and to contribute to the development of a strong and resilient health workforce for the Country. \nPurpose of the Summit\n\n1. NHWFS Provide a platform for experts on HRH to share experiences as well as provide guidance and expertise on best practices\, policies and strategies for strengthening HRH policies and strategies (across the spectrum from doctors to community health workers) in Somalia. \n2. Create an opportunity for relevant stakeholders to discuss and agree on key strategies and policy pathways for improving HRH in Somalia in the short and medium term\nExpected Outcome\n\n1. Provide input into priority strategies and interventions for strengthening HRH in Somalia.  \n2. Define a policy process and road maps for developing a new HRH Policies and Strategic Plans\nMethodology\n\nThe National Health Workforce Summit will be held on 15-16 May\, at Mogadishu. This Annual conference brings together health professionals\, policy makers\, and stakeholders from across the country to discuss issues related to the health workforce and will feature a range of interactive sessions\, including plenary lectures\, panel discussions\, workshops\, and networking opportunities

DESCRIPTION:Universal Health Coverage\n\nThe Ministry of health in partnership with E-health Somalia organize Annual Universal health Coverage event with highly significant activities. These include intensified provision of essential health services throughout the country in a number of health facilities and in “health camps” for deprived communities\, such as the people displaced by the Climate related events. Information on the promotion of health and prevention of diseases isprovided in these sites\, as well as through a mass-media and social media campaign\, also aimed at increasing community awareness about their rights to health and raising people’s voices and active participation in a common effort to improve health\, as a shared responsibility. \nOn UHC day 12th of December the commemoration ceremony is organized\, attended by senior government officials\, private sector\, academia\, health professionals\, civil society\, donors and partners.  \nObjective\nThe objective of these UHC Days activities is firstly to link the national policies to actions that will further facilitate critical discussions on services delivery expansion across the country. Secondly\, it aims to increase awareness about the important of health for all\, universal health coverage\, among stakeholders in the sector and beyond. It aims to shed a light on the progress made so far\, opportunities and challenges in healthcare and health security. Finally\, it aims to bring communities closer to the health sector\, increase citizens’ ownership of services and awareness of their right to health\,  \nOutcome\n• Commemorate the UHC Day\, renew commitments\, share  achievement\, challenges and Opportunities of Somalia Health Sector \n• Bring together technical expertise and strategic views from the health authorities and the relevant health sector stakeholders\, to discuss ways forward for UHC in Somalia.  \n• Show country’s effort to progress toward Universal Health Coverage\n• Promote health and wellbeing\, prevention. DESCRIPTION:Introduction \n\nThe use of information and communications technologies in support of health and health-related fields\, including health-care services\, health surveillance\, health literature\, and health education\, knowledge and research  in Somalia has been increasing for the last decade. Clear evidence exists on the growing impact that e-Health has on the delivery of health care around the world today\, and how it is making health systems more efficient and more responsive to people’s needs and expectations. \nIn Somalia\, the use of digital health is at different levels of maturity and readiness to utilize eHealth as a key enabler in the delivery of health care services. Experiences across the world shows that harnessing ICT for health requires strategic and integrated action at the national level\, to make the best use of existing capacity while providing a solid foundation for investment and innovation. Additionally\, digital technologies are now integral to daily life\, and the world’s population has never been more interconnected. Innovation\, particularly in the digital sphere\, is happening at unprecedented scale. Even so\, its application to improve the health of populations in Somalia remains largely untapped\, and there is immense scope for use of digital health solutions. \nTherefore\, the Ministry of Health and Human Services is  harnessing the power of digital technologies and health innovation to accelerate better attainment of health and the well-being in Somalia.
